Japan celebrated a super weekend in sport. Kei Nishikori made history as the first home player to win the Japan Open and Formula One driver Kamui Kobayashi finished third-place at the grand prix held in Suzuka, only the third Japanese to take a podium spot. The two made front-page headlines on Monday for their respective feats at home.

After Schumacher opts not to sign another contract with Mercedes he has been linked with a sensational return to former team Ferrari, or a switch to the much smaller Sauber outfit. The 43-year-old driver will be replaced at famous German marque Mercedes by the 2008 drivers’ champion Lewis Hamilton after the latter confirmed he is to leave McLaren.
